“Wild Thing” Charlie Sheen spotted @ Julie & Ian’s Wedding!

Saturday must have been an off day for the “Wild Thing” Charlie Sheen, so he partied it up in Elmira at Julie & Ian’s Wedding! All day long we were on theย  lookout for Jimi Hendrix, but unfortunately he was a no-show.

Father’s Day Memories

I spent late this afternoon at Eldridge Park with Tara & Mark, one of my couples whose Wedding I shared last October. Today we were joined by their boys Angel and little Sebastian, who hopefully & at the same time unwittingly created some magical Father’s Day memories for recall later on in their lives…..of that special Father’s Day, that day when they shared their very first spin on the Eldridge Park Carousel with Mom & Dad.

PS: Note to Photographers:ย  Always come to your shoot armed with Tootsie-Pops, they work great for bribing reluctant portrait subjects, and as you can see in the last image,ย  the associated sugar high really got this little Angel flying!!! Not to mention his making a great new friend with his best new buddy with all the Tootsie Pops….. Mr. Photographer!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lydia & Shawn….Today is Your BIG DAY!

See you both in a couple of hours kids!
Enjoy!

Tonight’s Celebrity Look-A-Likes!

Just got back from Heron Hill Hammondsport & this weekend’s Wedding Rehearsal of Lydia & Shawn of Hill Top Inn fame…. and just couldn’t wait to post tonight’s Celebrity Look-A-Likes ….a couple of real dead ringers too if you ask me!
First off….the 39th President of the United States…Jimmy Carter! Welcome to the Finger Lakes Mr. President!
Also in attendance, of History Channel/American Picker fame, “The Bundler” himself,ย  Frank Fritz.

So whadaya think? Can ya see it folks?

Only Nikon Glass for this Guy…

I noticed something pretty remarkable when I was editing my last Wedding. In these shots that we captured after the ceremony Laura, Mark & I must have been a couple hundred yards away from the crashing waters at the base of Taughannock Falls. Because of the strong winds swirling around in the canyon, here as well as during the actual Ceremony, we kept getting sprayed & chilled despite being so far away. I was amazed at how clearly the great glass in my Nikon Lens was able to catch those tiny droplets in mid air, to the point where they don’t even look like droplets anymore, but more like little threads of light dancing around in mid air… like little light meteors! Pretty cool! Check out both images by clicking on them, the first is the original image to give you an idea of our overall location, and the second is the close up of the same shot. Of course my D3s Camera Body, the settings, and the photographers steady hand had a bit more to also contribute too, but I doubt I could have captured such great detail it if I were using some of the cheaper, lower quality brand, knock-off lenses that are out there and that used too frequently by other shooters. Even though Nikon’s cost substantially more, they are worth it without a doubt. ALL of my lenses are Nikon Lenses. I wouldn’t trust anything else to capture my work. I really wanted to share this one with you.

Fun @ The Falls…Balloons Too!

Some of my favorites from this very unique Wedding ceremony of Laura & Mark, that was held on a beautiful April morning at the very base of the mighty Taughannock Falls in Trumansburg, NY.

Trisha & Chris’s Romantic Rochester Rendezvous

Occasionally while editing a Wedding and going through the thousands of images, I feel my ability to really appreciate how special some of the moments are just seems to fade a bit, I guess I just get numb to them all, to everything that I captured, along with my Bride and Groom on their very special day. Then, all of a sudden one of those shots just hits me, and brings me back to truly seeing the absolute beauty in that image, in that eternal moment that we created together. THAT happened a few times tonight as I drew close to finishing up Trisha & Chris’s April 13th Wedding.
This Wedding also had a very, very special meaning to me, in that I personally know Trisha, because I have been lifelong friends with her Dad Artie….Hell, we go all the way back to Grade School together @ St. Mary’s and from there, right through our days in the Fire Department…with our Hot Cars, those Softball & Bowling Teams, our own Weddings, Trisha & Michelle’s Births, and now this very Happy Weekend, only to be duplicated this coming July when once again, I have the honor to capture this time, Michelle & Ryan’s summer Wedding. Shooting every Wedding is always very special for me, but when lifelong friends are involved, well, it just gets that much better.
Anyway, Trisha and Chris….here’s a tiny preview of what you’ve got in store…..these are a few of my absolute favorites that I’ve gone through so far…. the ones that made me stop, look, and FEEL those moments, all over again.

I’ll have your full Wedding Gallery up by the 20th as promised. Till then, enjoy you two! Rick

Jenn & Jen in Jan

The 2013 New Year started off with a bang for me this January weekend, with the Binghamton, NY Wedding of Jenn & Jen. I had an absolute ball with these two fun ladies and all of their family & friends, and I think they felt the same way! Ladies, I’ll say it now, but for a number of reasons not to mention the fact that this was the first time that I saw the Bride get “Forked” while getting dressed ๐Ÿ™‚ย  but your Wedding will rank as one of my Top Twenty Favorite Weddings, out of the 650 plus that I have captured so far! Thanks for letting me be a part of your very special, happy, Loving Day!

Gary the Groom Going…… “Gang Nam Style!”

At this hilarious moment of last nights Wedding Reception with Laura & Gary, our groom, the usually reserved & soft spoken U.S. Naval Lieutenant Junior Grade Gary, showed us what he’s got, Gangnam Style, while at the same time not to be out done by his junior dance partner! PRICELESS!
