“Turn, Baby Turn!” Cohocton Wind Farm 07/26/11

Had a shoot for a client this Beautiful Tuesday Afternoon at the Cohocton Wind Farm located on the Corn Field Covered Hill Tops of Cohocton, NY. Windier than Hell up there!!! That probably explains why they put these Giant Propellers up there in the first place! According to one of the Engineers…the Towers are 300 feet tall to the hub where the blades attach, and the blades are about 150 feet long.

I was just mesmerized at the melodious spinning of these Giant Behemoths ! I thought this was just sooooo cool! I’d love to use one on these someday on my Studio. They would supply all my Electrical Power needs, and for an added bonus….what a frigging Paper Shredder too!!!!!!

Finally, the last shot was taken on my way home as I was passing through the Village of Cohocton….the Old Railroad Station, or what was left of it…… caught this Artist’s Eye. …..Rustic, Raw, Weathered Beauty!

“How Suite It Is!” Yankee Stadium 07/24/11

Took my first trip this 2011 Season down to the “Cathedral in the Bronx” Yankee Stadium for the 1:05  Game this Hot Sunday Afternoon. Had Suite Tickets, and upon entering Suite #4 and grabbing some lunch, I was pleasantly surprised to find in my company Four Yankees Old Timers! Guys I grew up watching way back in the ’70’s on B&W TV! Outfielders Roy White &  Oscar Gamble, the very first Designated Hitter in Baseball Ron Bloomberg, and Catcher Jim Leyritz! I never bring a flash to a ballgame so the pix aren’t up to my usual standards, but hey they are better than nothing and I have something to go along with each of their autographs! How Cool is that!

Also, wish I brought my close-up micro lens, but also shown  in these pix are some shots of Yankees World Series Rings,  The Boss George Steinbrenner’s Personal Championship Ring collection, as well some of the beautiful Original Painted & Photographic Art that proudly hangs in the FedEx Suite Level Concourse.

“Moonlight Derailment” 02:20 A.M. 07/20/11

Just before I was about to head home for the nigh…morning….I heard about a possible derailment by Wygant Road at the Holding Point Yards , so I just had to go check it out for myself…What a Frigging Mess! Probably a dozen or so cars off the rails…hard to tell in the dark…but it’s not just the wheels off the rails….these rails are ripped right out of the ties and twisted like pretzels underneath these fully loaded hopper cars…the road is torn up…like I said, What Frigging Mess! I guess I know where all the Norfolk Southern Track Repair guys will be working tomorrow, and Thursday & Friday in the 98 degree hot sun!! Good excuse to finally get those Holding Point lines re-done…..this was an accident just waiting to happen!

Holding Point Time Portal Ghosts 07/13/11

On my quest tonight for more new Railroad Car Graffiti Art, I stumbled upon these old doors….and they made me wonder….how many millions of people turned those knobs, and walked though those thresholds over the last 75 years?

2011’s Rolling “Gifts of Graffiti”….07/05/11

As the Gas Industry Supply Trains daily pass by my Studio back lot here in Horseheads, NY… I’m always checking them out for the frequently found, and stunningly beautiful “Rolling Canvas’s of Graffiti” . Then I high-tail it over to the Holding Point Railroad Yards & Warehouse Facility,  which are located directly across the street from the Studio,  and I try to find what just rolled in earlier. Lately it’s been getting much busier with the rail traffic, and if Hydraulic Fracking starts soon here in NY, one can only imagine the increase in trains, and yes, more of this incredibly creative art! I’ll be keeping my eyes open…..so to start us off this summer……Fourth of July afternoon had 70+ cars rolling in, and here are some of the best, that I shot just before sundown….How Cool! 🙂
