Catching some breathing room with my Wedding editing to finally get started on my RANGERS/SABRES shoot from a few weeks ago. Here are the beginning of a lot of Great Images….the NY RANGERS getting loose underneath the stands as they always do before each game. It’s either with a Volleyball or a Soccer or Hand Ball. I was particularly surprised seeing Rick Nash. On the Ice he is such a huge, dominating figure, but here he really didn’t seem that big, but man…look at the strength in his legs.

Sixteen Candles
So, early (for me at least) Thursday morning, once again we gathered this seasons installment of our hometown Elmira Jackals Professional Ice Hockey Club out onto the Center Ice Circle of the First Arena Pond, and for the Sixteenth Time in this organizations existence, I staged & shot the Official Team Portrait for 2015-2016. I told the Boys after we finished up with the last image, that I hope to be back here doing the same thing in about two months time, only this time with the addition of a shiny Kelly Cup in the center of us all. So let’s see what unfolds this Spring!

“Austin Moody” Blues….
I was hired by the up and coming musical artist, Austin Moody to shoot his warm up act performance at First Arena on Friday Night. Very, Very nice young man who reminded me of a Young Elvis, especially with his Southern Tennessee Drawl. This Elmira gig was one of the first big time shows that he has opened for and he was pretty pumped and wanted to get some nice live shots of this major stepping stone in his bright career. Well Austin…..Mission Accomplished my friend!!!!
Louis Q, Let me know what you think!!! Shooting Shows is a Royal Challenge as you know…. as the lighting is always changing, and varies from place to place as the artists move around……and this shoot in particular didn’t have a lot of front spotlighting on the performers, so it was extra tough getting well lit faces, but despite that, I’m Psyched at the results.

Overtime Heart Stopper!!!!
“The game needed a hero and found it in the form of Jacob MacDonald who muscled out of the corner and powered across the crease with a forehand tuck-in past Stevens for the overtime game-winning goal with 45 seconds left in the extra session.”
One reality of shooting action sports, that I learned long ago, is the agony of having an official or another players screen you out from getting that KILLER shot! That almost happened tonight on this GAMEWINNER….I saw the play coming right at me…..I was all set to get that SCORING moment, and then the damn Ref skates right into the frame! Oh well, I still got most of the shot as you can see that puck hit the back of the net and then float there for a while, while “Mac” did his Victory Pump right at me!
Tonight was the most exciting win of this Jackals Season by far! A GREAT NIGHT!

Genius of Youth
During tonight’s Jackals Game, I spotted these two little guys sitting a few rows above my shooting perch… they were totally absorbed in something….I just thought it was kinda cool!
