Elmira, N.Y. – The Elmira Jackals (45-22-2-2) took over first place in the Eastern Conference entering the final day of the regular season, battling back from a two-goal deficit to defeat the Reading Royals (35-28-4-4) in overtime, 3-2, in front of a sold-out crowd at First Arena on Friday night. Elmira’s 45th win tied a franchise record for victories in a season, set in the 74-game UHL season of 2001-2002.

The Elmira Jackals (31-19-2-2) earned their league-leading ninth win of the season when trailing after two periods and 20th comeback victory overall on Wednesday night, marching back with four third-period goals to defeat the Greenville Road Warriors (31-19-2-2), 5-3, at First Arena. With the win, Elmira extended its lead in the Atlantic Division to three points over the Wheeling Nailers.

The Elmira Jackals return home after a seven-game road trip when they welcome the Wheeling Nailers to First Arena at 7:05 p.m on 4-for-$44 night. The Jackals snapped a tie with the Nailers for first place in the Atlantic Division on Wednesday, jumping into sole possession of the top spot with a 3-2 win in overtime in Wheeling. Elmira will play its first contest at First Arena tonight since Dec. 3 and enters the contest on a three-game home winning streak.

For all you non-believers….I was actually at First Arena @ 7:30 A.M. this Monday Morning setting up for my 8:30 shoot!
