With 0.1 seconds left in today’s Third Period – THE EQUALIZER!

I haven’t posted much Jackals Hockey here in my blog lately…. and I think today’s exciting finish & great shots merit this post!
“The third period felt eerily similar to Saturday night with the Jackals bringing an unrelenting attack and Kalamazoo just trying to hold on. It took every last gasp for the Jackals’ offense to capitalize and tie the game to force overtime. Elmira had eight shots on the board before pulling Clermont for the extra attacker in the final minute. After a few unsuccessful tries to establish the attack, the Jackals’ Jordon Southron hustled in on the left wing. He sent a shot on net with three seconds to play that was knocked down by Canaata, but Rob Bellamy kept the play alive and Pietrus scored with no time showing on the clock. After the officials conferenced, the goal stood and Pietrus sent it to OT with his 15th of the season.”

“Flyin’ Through the Air…with the Greatest of Ease!”

ELMIRA, N.Y. – January 6, 2013 – The Elmira Jackals closed out a four game week by claiming a 4-3 win over the Trenton Titans on Sunday at First Arena. The win moved Elmira’s record to 17-15-3 on the season. Without a doubt, this is the best Sequence of Action Shots that I’ve captured so far this season. Enjoy watching Jackals Captain Jean Bourbeau’s mid-ice hip check sends a Trenton Titan Tripping along with Bourbeau himself & Jackals Teammate forward Jordan Pietrus !  OUCH!

Jackals Win!

ELMIRA, N.Y. – December 14, 2012 – The Elmira Jackals used two goals from Chaz Johnson and stout defense to claim a 4-1 win over the Orlando Solar Bears at First Arena on Friday night. The win improved Elmira to 11-10-2 on the season.

“Downing’s Downer” Tonight’s Hockey Headache Highlights

Lucky for me, I found myself behind the Reading goal during tonight’s First Period, … Jackals Forward Jack Downing #25 rushes the puck into the Reading zone and cuts toward the net…Reading Defenseman trips him up from behind and sends him flying just as he’s letting go a shot. Jacks momentum takes him flying toward the goal,  as Reading Goaltender Philipp Grubauer #30 instinctively moves out of the way. Unfortunately for Jack, he hits the upright so hard,  head on with his helmet/visor, that he dislodges the goal from the anchoring pegs. Blood on the ice from a nasty gash on the forehead, and after help off the ice & a check up by the team Doc’s. & Jack returned to the ice later in the game. A very close call…

11/23/12 Jackals vs. South Carolina…I Just Love This Shot!

Every once in a while during a hockey game you get that one shot where EVERYTHING is just perfect. Here we have Chaz Johnson #98, at just the right angle balancing on his stick as he turns up ice, with his legs just a pumping, right along with 3 of his team mates in the background, all with clear full facial views, & all their uniform numbers are un-obstructed….you can just FEEL the action in this shot!

Jackals vs. Florida Everblades – Game 1 Friday April 13, 2012 Eastern Conference Semifinals –

Quick pic blog shots from tonight’s big series opening Game 1,  Jackals 3-1 victory over the visiting Florida Everblades. Brian Stewart made 45 saves on 46 shots on Friday night at First Arena, leading the Elmira Jackals to a 3-1 victory over the Florida Everblades in Game 1 of the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Semifinals. Elmira, which was outshot 46-19 in the game by Florida, was able to hold off the Everblades for the win because of the play of Stewart (4-1).

Game 2 Saturday Night 7:05  @ First Arena……Try a game! What else is going on Saturday Night in Elmira anyway? 🙂
